You won’t find a bigger shed

- CHRISTIE ANDERSON

TOWNSVILLE’S largest vacant shed in a prime position on Townsville Port land has come up for lease.

The bulk storage facility at 8- 9 Hubie Taylor Place in South Townsville is available for lease from $ 500,000 per annum.

There is a large bulk storage, handling and distribution facility and separate two- storey administration building attached to the warehouse.

Most of the 21,7000sq m site is on 200m concrete hardstand and it’s located in the Nexus Business Park.

Colliers International senior executive James Pascoe, who is marketing the property, said they were looking for large industrial users and the shed could also be split up into smaller tenancies.

“We’ve already started to receive interest,” he said. “It would be the biggest vacant shed in Townsville and maybe even further afar.

“Being on Port land there is the ability for quarantine and customs approval so you can get customs and quarantine to meet you at the shed.

“It also has type two road train access, which is very rare in Townsville.

“Recently there has been about $ 1 million spent on improvements and upgrades.”

Mr Pascoe said the owner would also consider offers for sale.

There is also a heavy vehicle wash down bay and separator, weighbridge and scale and fire pump station.

The site is fully security fenced and has more than 300m of street frontage with four large heavy vehicle access points and the potential for dual street access via Port of Townsville easement at the rear.
