Rum for your life in cocktail spree
TOWNSVILLE’S Hooch & Fellow will serve up some rum- inspired cocktails featuring an award- winning visitor on Monday night.
The House of Angostura’s Brisbane- based cocktail expert Dan Gregory will host a rum masterclass before teaming up with bar owner Josh Agostino in mixing up a selection of classic and experimental cocktails. Mr Agostino said it was an honour to host Mr Gregory and The House of Angostura for a night.
“As a rum range, Angostura is respected the world over and is a bartender favourite here at Hooch & Fellow,” he said.
Queenslander born and bred, Mr Gregory has worked behind the bar at some of the country’s most popular venues like Black Pearl, Eau De Vie, The Gresham, Shady Pines, Canvas and lately at Eddie’s in Hobart, Tasmania.
Mr Gregory. who is also Australian Angostura Brand ambassador, said he was looking forward to coming to Townsville and working with the Hooch and Fellow team for the night.
“We’ll be putting on quite a show with a whole range of fun and classic rum drinks,” he said. “It’s such a versatile spirit; it can be serious when it needs to be in classic cocktails or fun and playful in experimental and contemporary- style drinks.”
Mr Gregory said it would be a fun night in a great bar with an excellent bar team.
All residents are invited to attend the evening, which kicks off at 5pm, at Hooch and Fellow on Flinders St.
