BRADY ELLIS REVEALS TOP TUNES

-

AS one half of Star 106.3’ s breakfast radio duo Brady Ellis ( pictured) deals with a lot of music and has developed a very eclectic taste over the years.

These are his favourite tunes: 1. Amy Shark ( Hi) I particularly enjoy this one because my wife was convinced the lyrics were “Tell my mum I said hi” Instead of “Tell ‘ em all”. Also it’s about sticking it to everyone who ever doubted you over the years, and who doesn’t love doing that? 2. The Beach Boys ( God Only Knows) Paul McCartney once said it was the “greatest song ever written”. Are you going to argue with Paul freaking McCartney? More importantly for me, it was the song that my wife walked down the aisle to … And she’s hot, so … 3. Dennis Lloyd ( Nevermind) I love cranking this one up in the Star 106.3 studio and singing along. The fact that the only word I know in the entire thing is “Nevermind” doesn’t seem to matter. The rest I just make up for with enthusiastic mumbling. Definitely a current fav. 4. AC/ DC ( Rock ‘ N Roll Train) Firstly AC/ DC is the greatest band that ever existed, and while the purists would be horrified that I overlooked some of their classics for a relative newie, I’m standing by it. I’ll never forget the overwhelming rush of excitement being front row when a life sized train burst out of the stage, while the opening riff blasting through the speakers of their live show. It gives me chills thinking about it eight years later. 5. Steps ( 5,6,7,8) Is it terrible? Yes. Is it cheesy? Yes. Is it embarrassing to even suggest that you like this song? Also yes. But is it guaranteed to get everyone from 8- 80 on the dance floor at a wedding? Absolutely! And as we all know, there’s nothing better than a lil’ boot scootin’ after a few chardonnays right? Cheers!
