Drugs, firearm seized in Home Hill raids

A JOINT op­er­a­tion be­tween Home Hill Po­lice, Aus­tralian Bor­der Force and the com­mu­nity has seen a quan­tity of cannabis and a firearm seized.

Home Hill po­lice of­fi­cer- in­charge Sergeant Steve Wil­son said one premises and three res­i­dences were raided dur­ing the course of Thurs­day’s op­er­a­tion with weapons and drugs charges laid.

Charges laid in­clude pos­ses­sion of a firearm, dan­ger­ous drugs and pos­ses­sion of drug uten­sils. It is un­der­stood a 17- year- old ju­ve­nile was among those ques­tioned with two peo­ple also ex­pected to face court at a later date.

“Un­law­ful drugs and weapons will not be tol­er­ated,” Sgt Wil­son said.

He said the op­er­a­tion was a good ex­am­ple of how com­mu­nity re­ports and in­tel­li­gence can help po­lice.

He urged any­one with in­for­ma­tion on any sus­pi­cious ac­tiv­ity to re­port it di­rectly to the sta­tion or to Crime Stop­pers on 1800 333 000.
