Townsville Bulletin - - NEWS - CHRIS LEES

THE company behind a proposed battery plant in Townsville has appointed a managing director.

Marc Vogts has taken the job at Magnis Energy Technologies.

Mr Vogts has a lot of experience in high level mining companies and projects.

He has held project director and vice president roles with mining giants BHP Billiton and Rio Tinto.

In a statement to the Australian Stock Ex- change, Magnis chairman Frank Poullas said the company was entering into an extensive growth phase and it was great to have Mr Vogts as managing director.

“His experience in running complex projects with thousands of employees in some of the most difficult jurisdictions, for some of the largest companies, will be critical and of significant importance to the company moving forward,” he said.

Mr Vogts said he believed he could leverage off his project experience to set up Townsville and New York for success.
