Pollies block experts
ONE could not help but notice Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk advising residents and communities about the pending and worsening bushfires raging in their area.
At the time she was flanked by at least four high ranking officers of the QFES with more scrambled egg and brass on their uniforms than you can poke a stick at, yet she had to be the one hogging the microphone warning people of the worsening situation and hazardous conditions. Why?
It is to be hoped politicians view the segment on the news.
If so, they could see how nauseating it is to watch them ( the politicians) try to give some form of illusion that they have some level of expert knowledge of the situation. Meanwhile, the real experts with all the knowledge are silent in the background.
Incidentally, donning a QFES baseball hat, in my opinion, made her look ridiculous under the circumstances.
I suggest the communities in trouble would rather hear advice from experts.
