Generous donations

MORE than $ 80,000 has already been raised through the 2018 Mayor’s Christmas Tree Appeal.

Townsville City Council Mayor Jenny Hill said she was grateful for the outpouring of community support.

“These donations are going to make a real difference to locals doing it tough this festive season,” she said.

The money will go to hampers for locals in need at Christmas.

“We will be collecting donations right up until the hampers are distributed the week before Christmas,” she said.

“I encourage everyone to consider donating and help bring joy to others for this festive season.”
