MAKING business connections has been made quicker and easier, thanks to an app launched by leading business group the Townsville Chamber.

The web- based app is free to download and features a business- related event calendar, the chamber’s directory of members and promotions by its members.

A mobile wallet allows users to redeem members’ discounts and special offers on their phone.

The app also gives users access to the chamber’s membership web page and blogs which provide information on the chamber’s activities, its advocacy and issues important to businesses.

Chamber president Debbie Rains said they wanted to be the first port of call for anyone looking for business events in Townsville.

“The app is a significant step forward for the Towns- ville Chamber,” Ms Rains said.

“It’s important to remain relevant and app technology is one way for the chamber to demonstrate our commitment to creating value for members, creating commerce and creating connections.

“There are a lot of business calendars in Townsville. None of them are comprehensive or live. With the app, we seek to be the first port of call for anyone looking for business events in Townsville.

“We invite our members and other business networks to let us know of their events so we can publish them on the app.”

The app was launched at the chamber’s annual general meeting yesterday.
