COOL TUNES F OR PART Y ON ICE

- KEAGAN ELDER

ESCAPE the heat and enjoy a true white Christmas on Monday at Warrina Ice Rink’s Ice Spectacular Show.

Organiser Erin Edwards said the skating show would make a cool change from the traditional Christmas celebrations in Townsville.

Ms Edwards said young skaters had teamed up with senior ice hockey players and rehearsed dances to the sounds of Kylie Minogue, Whitney Houston, Michael Bublé and The Jackson 5.

“We kind of wanted to get away from the boring, traditional stuff,” she said.

“We’re showcasing all different Christmas songs with all different skaters and ice hockey players.

“Some of the younger skaters are four years old and some of the older ones are 30, and some of the senior ice hockey players are older than 30.”

Ms Edwards said junior skaters had a number of competitions this year and the Ice Spectacular Show would bring the year to an end. The show starts at 7pm with tickets, costing $ 5, available at the door.
