Dam superb investments

WHEN will the powers- that- be realise that by committing money now to build the infrastructures like Hell’s Gates and the second stage of the Burdekin Dam, will pay big dividends nationally?

We have a crime rate second to none simply because the lack of employment is so high. Can’t they see we need these projects now, and not put off for some future date?

They should reconsider their decision to spend billions of dollars on submarines that are redundant before they are built.

Without nuclear power and nuclear weapons, they are useless. Spend the money on dams now, not tomorrow.

Whichever government can promise these necessary projects at this time, will be voted in at the next election.

Don’t worry about balancing the budget, this will get Australia going and save our children from a life of crime because of no work, and also think of the hydro power for the North created by these projects. ROY BASNETT, Annandale.
