Tennis star Cahill joins Port board
PORT Adelaide have appointed former tennis player Darren Cahill – the son of Port Adelaide great John – to the club’s board of directors.
Cahill won two singles titles and 13 doubles crowns before retiring in 1995. As a coach, he has helped Andre Agassi, Lleyton Hewitt and, most recently, Simona Halep to become world No. 1s.
Last month, Cahill announced he would take a 12- month break from coaching to spend more time with his family. It meant he parted ways with Halep, who won the French Open in June under his guidance.
