WIN LEAVES BRODY ALL SHOOK UP

A TOWNSVILLE impersonator has been crowned as the top Elvis tribute artist in a national competition.

Brody Finlay, 22, won the 2019 Parkes Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest, becoming the youngest person to take out the top spot. Mr Finlay ( pictured) will go on to represent Parkes in the semi-finals of the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest in the US in August.

“It was a really tough competition and to be announced as first place and to go on to represent Parkes in Memphis is phenomenal. I’m still speechless,” Mr Finlay said.

Tribute artists from across Australia and New Zealand battled it out on stage for the title over two days in NSW at the state’s festival, which is all about the King.

Mr Finlay is touted as a rising artist in Elvis tribute competitions.

Parkes Elvis contest director Cathy Treasure said they were proud Mr Finlay would be representing the community internationally.
