Kirwan fourth for car theft

A TOWNSVILLE suburb has been ranked as the fourth most common location for car theft in Queensland during the summer months.

Kirwan is a car theft hotspot, according to vehicle related claims by Suncorp between January 1, 2015 to November 30, 2018.

It was the only suburb to rank outside of the southeast.

Four of Queensland’s top six suburbs for car theft are on the Gold Coast.

Suncorp received almost 10,000 claims relating to car theft, with 2062 coming from Queensland.
