QC to take on governor job

MARGARET Beazley QC will be the next governor of NSW.

Premier Gladys Berejiklian said in Sydney yesterday Queen Elizabeth had accepted the recommendation of the highly decorated Federal Court of Australia and NSW Court of Appeal judge.

Justice Beazley also serves as president of the Court of Appeal and is an Officer of the Order of Australia.

She will become the 39th governor of the state when she replaces the outgoing governor David Hurley, who will be appointed as the governorgeneral of Australia in early May.
