Saints knock out Eagles

AUSTRALIAN punter Cameron Johnston’s Super Bowl hopes have crashed and burned after his Philadelphia Eagles were knocked out of the NFL playoffs by the New Orleans Saints.

The Saints, the NFL’S top seed, beat the reigning Super Bowl champion Eagles 20-14.

Geelong-raised Johnston had a strong game, booting the Eagles deep into the Saints’ territory with five punts averaging 48.2 yards.

After scraping into the playoffs by winning their past three games and relying on other teams to lose, the Eagles were underdogs to beat the Saints.
