I hope when mail deliveries start up again, Posties are thoughtful, & actually OPEN peoples’ mailboxes & place in correct ‘acctual box’, not just try & ‘jam’ it in the slot! It was bad enuff prior to a week or two of no mail....hate to think of the pile to come! Please don’t just try & stuff it in! N4812

Got my rates notice - guess I’ve used my water allocation ! Hagar the Humerous Mt Low

As time goes on the government will have crisis after crisis on its hands after natural disasters and eventually have people living on the streets because they could not afford insurance. The beginnings of it is happening now with so many people living it evacuation centres. The bank royal commission is finished, how about a RC into the insurance industry! Thomas west end 4810.

I am one of the many displaced persons to have benefitted from the generosity of friends due to the floods. To the person that broke into a car in Julia St Kirwan, not only was your search fruitless, (I never keep valuables in the car anyway), but you supplied absolutely SUPERB footage for the police to act on from the little bit you missed - the dashcam, and also the property’s security camera. I took the footage to the police and they recognised you. Kirwan 4817 Wendy Tubman, you are far too modest. Adani is not responsible for the court delays, the downsizing, the banks bullied & intimidated re finance. The dime-a-dozen anti Adani groups ably assisted by the Greens & Labor have done a splendid job delaying thousands of jobs for Townsville & regional Qld. Have your say Wendy, but don’t play with the truth. Pedro Cranbrook

Your vote in Townsville comes down to this: Are you employed:- then where is “your” tax going to be best spent.

Are you a pensioner or “self funded” retiree: then who in government best serves your needs and will allow you to “keep” most money in your pocket.

Are you Unemployed: then who do you think best promises to give you the best opportunity to get that job “now or in the immediate future”. It’s that simple so think very carefully about your next vote. Mark Kirwin 4817.

Someone in the ALP should tap Bill Shorten on the shoulder and tell him that now is not the right time to try and score cheap political points in Townsville. Ron Kelso.

Wendy Tubman. Can we ask, very simply, what your contribution to the local economy is? All we see is you knocking. Do you have a job? Jean M, Mundingburra

Stop blaming The Mayor n climate change for the flood. There is a reason why there is high block houses in low lying areas. DJ Rosslea

Gnan.4814 - you’ll be pleased to know that pensioners are exempt from the proposed change. It will only apply to the wealthiest retirees. Steve, Belgian Gardens

The biggest thanks to Police, Ambos , Firies, council workers , Townsville tinnies and all those who helped during this disaster. So many people put their lives at risk for others. God bless you all and thank you so much. Tim 4818

Why are we waiting. Build the

Burdekin Dam wall higher. Then we can get all our water from there all the time. At present six times the Ross Dam capacity at 100% is flowing over the Burdekin Dam wall every day! What a waste. Wayne, 4814.

Seeing as both Bowen Rd bridge and Rooneys bridge are likely to be out of action for months leaving Nathan st bridge as the only functioning bridge, Main Roads needs to think about installing lights at the hospital and university roundabouts. The sudden tripling of traffic means cars are now backed up on Yolanda Drive almost back to the school and it will be even worse once university starts back in a few weeks. TMR, think ahead and put in temporary lights now. Kt adale
