WW C/jong. The bit you are missing is the fact that mass transit is in the dark ages in this city, unlike your example capital cities. For example, limited ir zero public transport from northern beaches, Kelso/upper Ross, Alligator Ck etc, all suburds of

What is it with these political parties, first it was Labor, who don’t relate to anything labour-related anymore, now it’s the Nats who think the Bush that they used to support, start and ends at the outer suburbs of the big cities, and like their latte quaffing friends, believe milk and eggs are cultivated in cartons. Wayne Northey, Ravenshoe.

I have noticed that the Federal Conservative Government is getting closer to the last throw of the dice. It is noted that the current Prime Minister Scott Morrison is campaigning at cemeteries and calling on the now passed fomer Prime Minister Bob Menzies and his Deputy Black Jack Mc Ewan to steer the good ship Conservative through the current political turmoil. Fasten your seat belts Australian citizens beause the Country is going to be riding rough for many years into the future.graham Kelso Regarding the student strike on climate change and teachers social engineering. Our children do know the facts. They are taught at school how to research a topic, assess the source documents and the level of peer review of the research. Facebook, Twitter, Wikipedia and other social media sites are not valid research sources. In essence our children are far better informed than many of the climate deniers who only read their Facebook feeds. Listen to the kids, they know the truth and they are going to be the ones who will inherit our mess. Deek West End

T’ville’s crime wave-coppers & Choppers- The pollies just don’t get it. The Coppers already make the arrests. It’s what happens after that that counts & is where the system is broken. The B of Douglas.

First they were “young crims” then we were told that wasn’t PC so they became “troubled youths”. Now i see they are “disadvantaged youths”. Wonder if fewer cars are being stolen. CA , Railway Estate.

My old dog would have more political nous than Coralee O’rourke. After she & her 2 fellow Bne puppets have copped a flogging for 2 years on juvenile crime, she’s learnt nothing, & fails her electorate again, meekly accepting a 5 story youth “hostel” in Aitkenvale that no one wants. Even the Labor council are openly against it! Memo Casie Scott: Mundingburra is yours for the taking. Pedro Cranbrook In regard to the case of Cardinal Pell it is important we remember that the Catholic Church is made up of hierarchy, buildings and lay people. The St Vincent de Paul Society is only one example of the work of lay people. At present it is the hierarchy that is ill. Catholic 4814

The Palmer St Precinct Activation project sounds like a nice idea and current restaurant and business owners are no doubt delighted. But I can see a major problem here - money, or, more to the point, the lack of it. Many Townsville people are still suffering the effects of the floods, and will be for quite some time. Costly dining out will be the last thing on their minds. Ags Hermit Pk

Joe Blake T.B. 12th March. The Labor Party is sooooo predictable. Just give the old worker a promise of a wage rise just before the election. With any luck, they won’t fall for that one again, and again, and again. Bob Bohle.

?? ?? Oh boy! Another game changer with the marine precinct in Townsville. Hopefully it will not end up in the same basket as the boardwalk, lagoon and dare I say it, the bus stop in the mall. How sad are we? CS South Townsville
