Japanese agriculture graduates to gain fruitful year in Bowen
NINE agriculture graduates from Japan will spend a year in Bowen as part of their horticulture training.
The students are part of the Japanese Agricultural Exchange Council. Agricultural Industry Development and Fisheries Minister Mark Furner welcomed the group.
“This has been an initiative of the Bowen Chamber of Commerce who worked with the Bowen Gumlu Growers Association to see if there was an opportunity to collaborate with Trade and In- vestment Queensland and JAEC,” he said.
“The nine Japanese graduates will spend their first month at Bowen TAFE sharpening up their English language skills before being sent to fruit and vegetable farms in the Whitsundays region.”
