More speed cameras

- DAVID THOUMINE, Cranbrook.

I REFER to the article Page 9 (TB 21/2) new traffic lights for highway and the comments from one of the so-called local representatives, Coralee O’rourke, that the lights would help boost road safety.

I assume this is because of the trials which evaluated the safety of road trains turning right out of the intersection leading to Sun Metals refinery and turning across the traffic flow on the Bruce Highway which were completed some time ago now. Ms O’rourke also says the lights are part of the Palaszczuk Government’s commitments to road safety. I think we can safely say the only commitment to road safety will be more speed cameras. If the Palaszczuk Government is really committed to road safety I would have thought the three representatives would be telling the Premier of the shovel ready project at Calcium.
