Penance for AFL’S Winmar
AFL legend Nicky Winmar will have to do 100 hours of community work for drunkenly assaulting a Melbourne taxi driver.
The 53-year-old has pleaded guilty to recklessly causing injury during the Docklands assault.
The attack came following his old club St Kilda’s 11-point win over the Bombers on March 30.
Winmar will not go to jail and was instead handed a 12month community corrections order when he appeared at Melbourne Magistrates Court yesterday.
