COVID-19 FIGHTBACK SURPRISE PICNIC TURNS HEADS

A DETERMINED mother-oftwo was not going to let lockdown restrictio­ns stop her from celebratin­g a special milestone.

Jesse Mountford turned her front garden into a romantic iso picnic to surprise her husband Kenny Mountford for their eighth wedding anniversar­y.

Ms Mountford said she thought if they were not able to go out for a romantic dinner she would bring the romance to their front door.

“It felt so magical with all the lighting and the flowers and it was better than a restaurant setting for us,” she said.

“It was just about us on the front lawn and the atmosphere was calm and relaxing and we had music playing and it really felt like we were on holiday for a brief moment.”

The night was all thanks to Dreamscene Dinners by Dreamscene, which took only 40 minutes to set up the luxury picnic. picnic Ms M Mountford M said the spread blew her husband away with gourmet salad and fine wine featuring on the menu.

“It was a real juggling act to surprise Kenny while he went to get the kids from daycare,” she said.

“He got out of the car and couldn’t believe it, especially that it happened so quickly.”

The childhood sweetheart­s met 18 years ago and are parents to Valentina, 3, and Carter, 18 months.

Ms Mountford said they would always remember their eighth wedding anniversar­y for the right reasons.

“We have been together forever so it was important we still make each other a priority, which becomes harder every child you have,” she said.

Throughout the night Ms Mountford said her anniversar­y picnic turned a few heads with people stopping to indulge in the moment.

“Everyone was blown away and surprised that something like that could happen in the front garden,” she said.
