Detectives seize guns and ammo

A PENTLAND man will appear in the Charters Towers Magistrates Court on multiple weapons charges in September after a police raid on a property in the small North Queensland town.

Charters Towers detectives executing a search warrant last week seized 10 firearms and a large quantity of ammunition and gun powder.

The charges against the 44-year-old include unlawful possession of firearms, possession of a shortened weapon, failing to secure weapons, and possession of unregistered weapons. He has been bailed to appear in court on September 21.
