Childcare centre off the ground
CONSTRUCTION has officially begun on a new $3.5 million childcare centre at North Shore.
The purpose-built centre at Stockland North Shore, which will have the capacity for 124 children, is set to be completed later this year for children aged from six weeks to six years old.
It will feature eight spacious learning hubs, interactive technology and an in-house chef.
The centre adds to North Shore’s educational precinct, which already has two childcare centres and three schools.
“North Shore is committed to delivering key community facilities and infrastructure within walking distance of residents’ homes,” Stockland’s Andrew Astorquia said.
On the corner of Synnove and Rockingham drives, the childcare centre will be nextdoor to North Shore State School and will have 1540 sqm of outdoor play area.
Green Leaves Early Learning CEO Mark McdonaldSmith, whose business will run the privately owned facility, said: “Our purpose is to provide early education and care that exceeds traditional standards.”
