Dametto disappoints with outrageous claims

-

I’M proud to be a Bushland Beach resident, on Townsville’s

Northern Beaches.

We are an easygoing, tolerant, down-to-earth suburb, which is willing to give everyone a fair go.

It seems these values are not shared by our local state MP, Nick Dametto.

I’m disgusted by the Katter Party’s cheap political pointscoring at the expense of some underprivileged kids that we know nothing about and Dametto’s disgraceful attack on a not-forprofit organisation which is trying to help them out.

This organisation (IFYS) supports vulnerable, at-risk kids.

Dametto claims the kids who will stay in this privately rented house could be criminals – but he has absolutely no evidence to prove that.

Sadly, this behaviour is typical of Dametto and the Katter Party.

Whip up hysteria, scare everybody, make outrageous claims and pretend to be doing something about it.

The Palaszczuk Labor Government has been a disaster for North Queensland. After two and a half years, all Dametto’s showing off and silly stunts have delivered precious little in the way of meaningful outcomes for Townsville’s Northern Beaches.

All I can say is that it has been a great relief to read that long-term Bushland Beach resident Scott Piper has been announced as the LNP candidate for Hinchinbrook.

I look forward to being represented by someone that understands our community. DALE ATKINSON,

Bushland Beach.
