-

IT has been the weight loss secret for countless people around the country and now Townsville has been put on the map.

After launching 30 years ago in Australia, Lite n’ Easy has opened its doors in North Queensland.

The company has invested in the Townsville region with a new facility comprising offices, freezers, chillers and production areas.

Lite n’ Easy head Dennis Stark said the business hoped to make Townsville a health conscious community with its ready-to-eat weight loss meals.

“There has been a lot of press recently reporting that 70 per cent of local doctors have seen a rise in the number of patients with obesity-related illnesses compared with five years ago,” he said.

Kelso local and former Lite n’ Easy customer Sam Walsh is excited to be back on her weight loss journey.

“I lost 10kg in 2013 when I was living in Melbourne but when I moved to Townsville in 2018, there was no Lite n’ Easy,” she said.

”As a working mum, to have the option to have a dinner meal or the lite meals when I am not that hungry is very convenient for me.”

Lite n’ Easy offers a range of dietitian designed meals including breakfast, lunch, dinner, mini meals, lite meals and desserts. Currently, the fresh salads are being airfreighted into Townsville every second day.

Ms Walsh has her meals delivered weekly and has lost 2kg in the last three weeks.

She said she was hoping to lose 20kg. g. “I have done it so I know it works and d I have had friends that have tried it who o have seen fantastic results.”
