This month she’ll give a presentation at James Cook University’s Business Bites about turning obstacles into opportunities.

Hosted by the Townsville Business Women’s Circle and JCU on July 30, the presentation is called From Obstacles to Opportunities: A Wellbeing Approach.

“Mindset and mindfulness are vital when going through challenges,” she says. “It allows us to get unstuck and eventually see the teachable moments.

“It’s more than thinking positive, it’s an attitude of growth.

“Our mindset is the beliefs we hold around things and when we understand that, we get to choose what we want to believe.

“It’s empowering.”

Ms Spina, who was a finalist last year in the nationally recognised Ausmumpreneur Awards, says she hopes to empower and comfort attendees at the Obstacles and Opportunities presentation through the lens of wellbeing.

“I want guests to tap into their strengths and values and use them to their potential to increase health and happiness,” she says. “To see the teachable moments and possibilities that lay ahead. To ignite a passion for the collective that we have a voice in how we choose to move forward to support each other’s passions, projects and businesses.”

Ms Spina is not only a respected wellbeing educator, but is owner of the hugely popular Townsville-based Kids in
