After the Fitzgerald inquiry it was decided that there would be no government advertising for six weeks before a election. Not only is the Queensland government bombarding us with adverts telling us what a wonderful job they are doing, they are also putting up billboards all at taxpayers’ cost.
This is wrong. Taxpayers should not have to pay for this. BILI 4850
You can’t hide five years of mismanagement under five months of COVID Premier. FP HERMIT PARK
I see ads on TV where the state govt will spend billions to rebuild Qld, so please explain where is it coming from as Qld is broke and owes billions, anyone know?
MARTY MT LOUISA
As elections near, politicians usually are falling over themselves to have their photo taken at any new project worth $1.5bn and 1500 new jobs. Amazingly no state Labor minister has ever visited the Adani Carmichael Mine site. The Greens are openly anti Adani, anti coal, anti blue collar worker, while Labor just won’t admit it. Duplicitous hypocritical political expediency. PEDRO CRANBROOK
Senator Nita Green this wasn’t money promised before the last federal election, this was an election commitment. Lucky we finally have a fighter who fought to keep the money in Townsville after your Labor mates’ shenanigans.
Now did these constituents contact your office as our three Labor MPS are MIA? JR 4810.
The Premier has cancelled a number of engagements recently due to a sore throat and losing her voice, when asked if she was tested for COVID, she said no, another case of do as I say, not what I do. SHOELACE 4812
We will never rid the world of pedophiles without the death penalty. STEVO 4817
All those pages of football but nothing about the cricketers win in England or the Tour de France. Australian running fourth. NELS 4811. The picture on Page 9 today shows just who pushes the buttons for Townsville Enterprise and the Chamber of Commerce. The big end of town wants to make money at the expense of our health and they jump to attention. JEAN 4812
I agree totally with Mick Warren, lock up the little mongrels. Twelve months in the lock up should do it and not in luxury accommodation either with further time if they re offend. That should sort them out and we will all be happy. L.G.WULGURU
Ah yes, planning for the hospital expansion. The promises will once more be forthcoming just like the new warning lights for schools. One question, why does it take so long? M J REYNOLDS MT LOUISA
Mick Warren proposes a “quick fix” to crime. Per the dictionary, a quick fix is: “an expedient, temporary solution, especially one that merely postpones having to cope with an overall problem.” Mass incarceration would fail to address the root causes of crime and lead to more of it in the long run. STEVE, BELGIAN GARDENS
When will Jenny and her Labor mates start stage 2 of the Burdekin pipeline? GK 4818
Here come the election promises as usual, but trusting Labor to deliver the regions their fair share is akin to the phrase, “beware of Greeks bearing gifts”. WW. C/JONG
Thuringowa needs a leader, Troy Thompson from ONP is showing and doing, not even elected yet and he’s helped many businesses across this city. Invaluable advice, partnering arrangements, funding and gets nothing for it, if that’s not a community contributor, not sure what is. He has also started negotiations with the German government to buy Aussie beef. This month he helped a retiree get into a pool for exercise because of muscle deterioration for free, donates to a local children charity often. Nothing wrong with any candidates, but he can get it done, and is. Great work Troy!
