Ingham Police disappointed in nabbing five for drink-driving
AN UNLICENSED teenager caught driving an unregistered motorcycle nearly two times over the legal limit was among five people Ingham Police charged with drink-driving at the weekend.
All of the arrests were random intercepts and not the result of a targeted Ingham Police operation.
In the first case, police issued a 45-year-old Ingham woman with a notice to appear in the Ingham Magistrates Court on November 12 after her Ford Focus was pulled over on Lynn Street and she recorded an alcohol reading of 0.083 per cent at 9pm on Friday.
On Saturday, a 51-year-old Forrest Beach woman driving a Ford Courier in Palm Street recorded a reading of 0.086 at 4.45pm and was ordered to appear in court on November 12.
Later that evening, at 6pm, a visibly intoxicated 52-yearold Ingham woman was arrested for riding her bicycle in Cooper Street and was ordered to appear on November 26.
A Forrest Beach man, 29, caught driving with a BAC of 0.065 per cent in Leichhardt
Street at 6.45pm on Sunday, is scheduled to appear on November 12.
An 18-year-old Ingham motorcyclist recorded a BAC of 0.093 when pulled over on Herbert Street at 8.30pm on Sunday.

Bormann said police were “active over the weekend intercepting vehicles for random breath tests”.
“It was disappointing that five local residents were found driving over the legal limit and will all appear in court as a result,” Senior Sergeant Bormann said.
