LADBROKES EXPERT TIPS

-

The Ladbrokes experts nailed the result of the 2019 Melbourne Cup, with two of the tipsters selecting Vow And Declare, and they are back to help punters find the winner again in 2020. The tips of champion trainer Peter Moody, Melbourne Cup winning jockey Jimmy Cassidy, Racing Analyst Tom Hackett and the Ladbrokes Bookies may help you today ...

PETER MOODY TIGER MOTH

Aidan O’brien has worked out the type of horses that he needs to send to Australia to win our big races and I think he will win the Melbourne Cup with Tiger Moth after narrowly missing out on both the Caulfield Cup and the Ladbrokes Cox Plate. Tiger Moth is thrown in at the weights based on his European form and he gives me the impression that he will thrive under Australian racing conditions.

JIMMY CASSIDY SIR DRAGONET

It takes a class horse to win the Melbourne Cup and Sir Dragonet has class in spades. Not only did he win an excellent edition of the Ladbrokes

Cox Plate, he was very strong on the line and he gives me the impression that he won’t have any issues running out a strong 3200m. Glen Boss in the saddle is always a positive in a race like the Melbourne Cup and barrier 14 gives Bossy plenty of options in the early stages.

TOM HACKETT TIGER MOTH

Tiger Moth has the perfect profile to win the modern Melbourne Cup and he reminds me of previous winners Rekindling and Cross Counter, as well as last year’s placegetter Il Paradiso. You have to be a good horse to finish second in the Irish Derby and he showed his quality with a dominant victory in the Kilternan Stakes. He is the horse that has beaten the handicapper this year and the wide barrier draw just means that we are getting a better price.

LADBROKES BOOKIES SIR DRAGONET

The Ladbrokes Bookies have an excellent record picking the winner of the Melbourne Cup and in 2020 they have landed on Sir Dragonet. It takes a classy horse to win the Ladbrokes Cox Plate and it is no surprise that two of the past four Cox Plate winners to press on to the Melbourne Cup were able to win the race. Sir Dragonet looks as though he won’t have any issues with the step up to 3200m and he gets in well at the weights for a horse of his quality.
