Sprinters will shine in the sun

- LEE PEARCE

THE Townsville Showground track record could be in serious danger as the region’s most exciting sprinters line up.

Excuse Me Jack, for Harold Hovi, finished only a length off the track record over the 380m last start.

He will be back at that distance as he contests the Animal and Pet Travel APAT 5th Grade out of box four.

He will be a very priced favourite.

Yellow Heart (1) for Glen Olsen will be a danger.

Paul Smith has two laststart winners in here. Big Pikachu (2) won his last start from box five and has drawn better here while Keith (3) could be hard to beat from here.

The sprinters will be the feature event on a thrilling 12race program from 4.30pm.

The afternoon will also include the KEYFLO Best 8 over 380m.

John Strachin (1) for Andrew Wooler had his first run back on Tuesday night for an unplaced finish but his form previous to that was excellent. He prefers wider draws.

Super Hard (6) also trained by Wooler won last Saturday over 643m.

Stratford (8) for Rhonda Essery won his last start from this draw over the 498m.

Good Odds Nutty (5) for Michael Hickmott ran unplaced his last start over 498m, dropping back in distance where his form was good. short
