Woman lands probation after violent fast-food store rampage

- CAMERON BATES

A WOMAN laughed uncontrollably as details of her violent rampage in two Ingham fast-food restaurants were recounted in court.

Appearing in the Ingham Magistrates Court last Thursday, Jonie Neliman pleaded guilty to counts of entering a premises to commit an indictable offence and common assault in Mcdonald’s Ingham on May 17. The 22-year-old Ingham woman also admitted to committing public nuisance in a drunken state and a failed attempt to climb over the service counter at Domino’s Pizza Ingham following the “bizarre” Mcdonald’s incident that left the manager badly shaken.

Neliman also pleaded guilty to a charge of failing to dispose of a hypodermic needle on May 24.

Page said Neliman entered Mcdonald’s at 5.30pm, placed an order and walked off without paying.

She said the defendant, who held her hand over her mouth as she sniggered throughout the sentencing, returned a couple of minutes later, walked behind the counter and helped herself to the fries.

“She’s then walked toward the office area (and) confronted the assistant restaurant manager,” she said.

“There’s been a verbal altercation before she’s poked the assistant manager in the chest.”

Ms Page said Neliman had then walked into the kitchen prep area before leaving the restricted area and fleeing the restaurant toward Domino’s while carrying bags of food worth $57.55.

She said the defendant, while carrying her Maccas loot, slapped over a plastic screen barrier on the counter of the pizza parlour, which hit a staff member.

“She’s then tried to climb over the counter but is pushed back by staff members,” she said.

“She said ‘give me everything, just give me everything’, she’s then picked up the two brown bags and appears to try and hit staff over the counter.”

Ms Page said the Mcdonald’s victim “stated that the female person was acting in an aggressive manner, yelling and swearing … and said ‘you better back the f--- off before I stab some c---”.

Acting Magistrate Scott Luxton sentenced Neliman to 12 months’ probation with the conditions that she not offend during that period and she submit to urine testing.

No conviction was recorded.
