Serb star chases slam streak

Novak Djokovic will become the most prolific men’s tennis player of all time if he can capture his 21st grand slam title at the US Open, starting next week. The Serbian star is level with greats Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, but the pair will miss the event through injury. Djokovic has won all three majors this year and will be keen to atone for last year’s disqualification at the event. In the women’s draw, Australian Ash Barty will be looking to continue her hot streak. The Wimbledon champ is the favourite, just ahead of Japan’s Naomi Osaka.
