DANGERS ACROSS THE PARK IN TOWNSVILLE GREYHOUNDS

-

ROBERT Lund will head into today’s Townsville greyhounds racing with an ace up his sleeve.

When No Regrets (7) clocked in a best time of 37.58 seconds across the 643m distance, she announced herself as a genuine North Queensland contender.

Now when she takes on the Angliss Meats 4/5th Grade over 643m, she will be backed by two wins over two shots at the distance, and with a clear run down the straight she will prove hard to beat again.

Mali’s Rocket (8) for Heath Ardle stands as the greatest threat to the favourite, with three starts here for two wins and a third. Mahogany Row (4) for Brad Belford ran second in a steward’s trial on Friday. The former southern runner has wins at Gawler, Albion Park and Ipswich and is in contention as the second favourite here.

Race 6 is the Townsville Cup Prelude over 498m, with several contenders in the mix.

Excuse Me Jack (6) for Harold Hovi is hitting his peak at the right time with strong wins and placings over the distance.

Still Tough (7) for Brad

Belford has a good time of 28.63, and this fellow will be the danger in the race.

Truthiness (1) for Danny Preh has drawn ideally for his first look over the distance. He can begin and with a strong finish, could be hard to catch.
