Crowd glimpses life in the army

-

THOUSANDS passed through the gates to enjoy a rare glimpse into military life at Lavarack Barracks over the weekend.

The base opened to the public on Saturday with attendees queuing out past the gates to see everything from tanks, choppers and more at the Army North Queensland Open Day.

Northern Queensland Legacy benefited from the event with attendees each asked to donate to support the not-forprofit organisation, which supports the partners and children of veterans who have lost their life or been injured during service.

Northern Queensland Legacy Week honours the sacrifice of Defence widows, widowers, and children whose loved ones have served our country.
