ONE of the world’s most famous toy brands has announced it will open a shop in Townsville, sending fans into a spin.

LEGO plans to open a store at Stockland later in the year, meaning enthusiasts don’t have to travel south for a specialised shop.

“We’re thrilled to announce the opening of a first-to-market LEGO Certified Store at Stockland Townsville,” Stockland Centre manager Andrew Stallan said.

“The new store will be the only one of its kind north of Brisbane, which gives our customers the exclusive opportunity to engage with this type of retailer outside of a major metropolitan city.

“We know that bringing the convenience of a world-class retailer such as LEGO to the centre will enhance the customer experience, and can’t wait for the people of Townsville to get their hands on some of this incredible product.”

LEGO stores are renowned across the globe as iconic retail experiences with landmark locations in New York, London, Hong Kong, Dubai and Denmark.

Townsville’s store will incorporate bespoke brick features that are a tribute to local Queensland icons and landmarks, in addition to some of Australia’s widest selections of LEGO sets.
