APOLOGY TO MS CLAIRE GRANT

In the article titled “Bowen man called woman 23 times before assaulting her at home” on 12 August 2021, it was reported that the magistrate “chastised” the defendant’s barrister, Ms Claire Grant. This was incorrect. The magistrate rejected a submission put forward by Ms Grant but the magistrate did not chastise or punish Ms Grant and there was no suggestion by the Magistrate that the submission was improper.
