Drink-driver caught travelling too slow
A NORTH Queensland duty manager was busted drink-driving after he was stopped for cruising 40km/h under the maximum speed limit.
Appearing in the Ingham Magistrates Court on August 12, Timothy Hector Francis Pennay of Forrest Beach pleaded guilty to the charge of drink-driving on Forrest Beach Rd in the early hours of Sunday, July 11.
Police prosecutor Anita Page said it was Pennay’s speed of just 60km/h in a 100km/ zone that alerted police, with the defendant recording a blood-alcohol reading of 0.063 per cent.
Acting Magistrate Scott Luxton said there was nothing adverse about the defendant’s driving and the offence was out of character.
He was convicted, fined $400 and disqualified from driving for one month.
