Do you get your five a day?

I have to say I’m not the best when it comes to eating my daily fruit and vegetables, although I do incorporate a lot of cauliflower and carrots into my meals. Before lockdown I was in Cairns with my family and I think we ate our combined weight in carrots.

Have you ever dieted?

I am not sure if diet is the right word but I’ve definitely made some lifestyle changes. I usually take my coffee with almond milk and try my best to keep dairy free. When I’m super motivated I meal prep, which makes me feel super energised, but I haven’t done that in a while, especially since lockdown.

What is your absolute blowout meal?

I recently learned how to make a Turkish dumpling dish called Manti – it is full of carbs and yoghurt but I’ve been making it a couple of times a week and cannot stop. I can eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Have you had any operations or broken bones?

Thankfully no, which is quite surprising since I’m super clumsy and played heaps of sports growing up. I’ve had my fair share of bumps and bruises but nothing too memorable.

What’s been your biggest health mistake?

Skipping breakfast, but that counts as intermittent fasting these days right? I’ll usually have a big meal around lunch time though. I’m definitely missing brunching with friends during lockdown.

What regular vitamins do you take?

Right now I’m loving JS Health hair and energy. Yep, even us Hijabis like looking after our hair.

What health advice would you have given yourself 10 years ago?

I used to participate in heaps of sports growing up and took up karate, netball and soccer. I’d tell myself to keep that up and not give up because I really appreciate the discipline that comes with sports and I haven’t played something like that in so long.

Would you have plastic surgery? Botox?

I have to admit I’ve always been tempted, especially with the standard that we compare ourselves to on social media. I look at myself and wish I had someone else’s button nose or pouty lips. It’s really hard to remember that Instagram isn’t real and I try really hard to embrace and accept myself for who I am. That’s not to say I’m against cosmetic changes, I’m all for people feeling confident and doing what makes them happy.

What is your guilty pleasure in life?

Eating a block of Whittaker’s Coconut Chocolate Block (in one go) with a can of V. Also while binge-watching a Netflix series from start to finish in my bedroom all day.
