CHANCE TO SEE BIGGEST DINOSAUR FOR $ 1

- ANDRE GRIMAUX

OUTBACK tourism operators hoping for a stampede of spring holiday visitors might be about to have their prayers answered.

Tourism and Events Queensland, in partnership with News Corp’s Queensland mastheads including the Townsville Bulletin, is offering 100 family passes to the Eromanga Natural History Museum for $1 each.

The museum is home to Australia’s largest dinosaur, a titanosaur nicknamed ‘Cooper’ estimated to be 95-98 million years old.

Named after the creek and basin in South West Queensland where he was discovered, Cooper is believed to have been 30m long and 6.5m high from ground to hip.

He is one of a number of significant fossil and giant dinosaur discoveries in the region around Eromanga.

>>The museum passes – for two adults and up to four children – would normally cost $105 and are valid from September 12, 2021 to October 31, 2022. They’re being offered as part of the “20 Days of Holidays Like This” campaign and available from 9am on Thursday at queensland.com/ holidayslikethis, until sold out.
