YOUTH CHARITY PINS ITS HOPES ON AFL PLAYERS

- JACKIE EPSTEIN

COLLINGWOOD AFL player Jordan Roughead has unveiled the new AFL premiership pins to raise funds for the league’s official charity Ladder.

Having worked with Ladder since 2013, Roughead said it was important to keep providing help for young people in areas such as community connection, health and wellbeing and education, employment and training.

“Ladder started in 2007 and it was started by the AFL players who identified the need to support young people in the community,’’ Roughead said.

Last year Roughead was appointed to the Ladder Board as a representative of the AFL playing group, and is also the Chair of the

Ladder Player Reference Group, a group of AFL/AFLW players who provide strategic direction to the organisation in the area of player engagement.

The 2021 AFL Premiership pins will be on sale at ladder.org.au for $5.
