WHERE TO FOR HARVEY?

-

COLLINGWOOD outgoing caretaker coach Robert Harvey says he is yet to speak to Carlton about a coaching role after confirming his “mutual” decision to depart the Magpies.

As he left the club on “good terms”, Carlton has been mooted as Harvey’s likely next stop should his former coach Ross Lyon win the senior coaching position there.

“Clearly, Ross Lyon is a mentor of mine and we are pretty close and I have great respect for him as a coach and I don’t know where that sits to be honest. I don’t know if he knows,” he said.

“But, in the end, there is obviously a lot of joining the dots this time of the year and I think that’s what people are doing.”

Harvey, who joined the Magpies as an assistant coach at the end of 2011, took over as caretaker coach after Buckley’s mid-year exit.
