Being a conservative, I have always believed in respect for the law and our democratic institutions like our parliaments. Yes Troy Thompson has definitely acted inappropriately, but really, what a giant overreaction about bloody nothing from Captain Precious Aaron Harper, Speaker Curtis Pitt and the Ethics Committee. Harper should have just laughed off such a petty act, but instead has used the situation to maximise political damage. If only he could be as fast on his feet fighting juvenile crime! PEDRO CRANBROOK Tourism Minister Stirling Hinchcliffe stated at Estimates last month that tourism operators didn’t want a hand out, they wanted incentives for people to holiday in Queensland and that if the opposition got off their backside and spoke directly to them they would know this. It is over 50 years since we put a man on the moon and we are still not smart enough to design ‘Smart Lights’ that allow traffic to turn right when there is no traffic approaching from the opposite direction for a full minute. Absolute waste of time and fuel. That is the issue my friend.
