FINALS CHANCE

QUEENSLAND Country Bank Stadium has firmed as the venue for a historic NRL finals double-header.

Sources have told the Bulletin the NRL has all but confirmed the event for next weekend, with a financial contribution the only sticking point on the deal. On Friday, the NRL was in discussions with local governments over the plan to bring finals football to the regions. It is believed one match will be held on the Sunshine Coast, a double-header in Townsville and possibly a game in Rockhampton.
