MOVE SWIFTLY ON

I love my Suzuki Swift but want something bigger that can tow a small trailer for tip runs and camping. I still want something smallish, so what’s out there? Are there any small utes? Jackie Zappa, email

Sadly, car-based utes just aren’t a thing anymore. If you love your Swift, try a Suzuki Vitara small SUV. It’ll tow a 1200kg braked trailer. The entrylevel is $27,990 drive-away with a manual transmission , but you really want the turbo as it has a far better engine, safety and equipment. It’s quite a bit more expensive, though, at $34,490 drive-away with auto gearbox. It’s only 2WD, so don’t count on going to out-there camping spots. A new or used all-wheel-drive Subaru XV is a solid off-roader and tows from 1250kg-1400kg.
