For the Flames point guard past statistics do not factor anymore, not even as recently as a week ago. Nothing, she said, mattered except for how she and her teammates were approaching today’s semi-final.

Townsville will take on a powerhouse Logan outfit in Brisbane today for a spot in the NBL1 North grand final, with Shannon Seebohm’s outfit determined to put memories of their season defeat behind them. Reid’s 17 points, 12 rebounds and 12 assists dominated the Flames’ triumph over the Gold Coast in the quarterfinal, showcasing some of her best form despite a month off the court due to the Covid-19 shutdown of the competition.

But the 25-year-old said as pleasing as the personal accomplishment was, ultimately it would be in vain if she did not back it up.

“That (the triple double) was exciting, but I’m just glad honestly we got the win. I had no idea that was going on when it happened but it was cool,” Reid said.

“I’m just really confident going in, we’ve all been working out a lot outside team trainings and getting the reps up. To be honest we didn’t play at all how we’ve been playing the last few games (last time we took on Logan).

“That wasn’t even a shell of who we are now and how we play. This is what you work for. Nothing has mattered until now.”
