PATRONS will have a whole new perspective from the Seaview Hotel with its new sports bar opening with stellar views of The Strand.
Work was completed recently, with the revitalised corner of the watering hole opening to the public in late
August. The new sports bar, which took over the space of the former game room, has opened up a key piece of real estate with the hotel now offering almost wall-to-wall views of the ocean.
Along with picturesque views of The Strand, patrons will now be able to access a full TAB service, which the pub had never offered previously. Seaview Hotel general manager Jason Schell said the new sports bar opened last Thursday to a positive response.
“(It) had a really solid crowd on Saturday for our first major punt day,” Mr Schell said.
“It was always the aim to bring back the corner of the hotel as a bar to sit at and enjoy the views of the ocean and the busy Strand area.
“(It) gives the hotel a bar for 18 plus as well as an airconditioned bar for those hot summer days.”
He said that builders would start work on the Restaurant Bar this week, with the plan for it to be completed in mid-october.
