Thanks to all the great performers and food trucks at City Eats on Saturday night. MICHAEL SPALDING IN DOUGLAS

If Townsville is going to host NRL finals and rugby union internationals they need to do an urgent repair job on the playing surface at the stadium. It looked like a potato patch in the second half of Saturday night’s game. DK, 4810

Phillip Thompson MP, if some pollies are able to rort VIP flights, perhaps a flight on compassionate grounds for the next of kin of the soldiers who died recently could be arranged.

Our Premier has proved yet again that she is a smug and starstruck little girl. Worse still, a second generation politician with no real idea, who is surrounded by inept advisers appointed because they know someone in the right party rather than because they have any real experience. It’s a recipe for disaster and that is exactly what we’re seeing. GKC, HYDE PARK

If Dr Jeannette Young hasn’t been making political decisions in support of the Premier, why then did this question when asked by a journalist make her throw the hissy fit like she

did giving the impression that it was correct and had struck a raw nerve. RON, KELSO

Annastacia Palaszczuk would ask PM Scott Morrison for more information on domestic reopening of country. Debate is a one-sided convocation with our premier, it’s time to ask all Australia’s citizens whether they’re ready to take their lives back and end the dictatorship of state premiers, before it’s too late. CRIS, WULGURU

I’ve been having trouble with my QR check-in lately. It’s been telling me that I have no internet connection. Has anyone been having the same problem? TERRY, CRANBROOK

Seen in city heart Saturday arvo. Man wheeling his child across intersection with his face buried in mobile phone. If there were fewer people walking around in their own little worlds looking at their phone screens, there’d be far fewer accidents. D. BILTON, W/END

Well the Queen Bee has made the announcement re commencement of the Hive development. Townsville you know what this means: you are going to lose another Iconic old hotel, the former heritage-listed Criterion Hotel. Been there since 1904 surely that must mean something to you the people of Townsville. I can only assume you don’t care! JOHN, 4820

Could the good people of Kirwan please stop feeding the peacocks? They are introduced pests. They compete with native animals for habitats, destroy cars and property with their beaks and claws, and poop everywhere. There were two in 2017, now over 30 of them. Don’t feed them. TIM, KIRWAN

Well, for the 2nd year in a row Brisbane Lions have had home ground advantage, a vocal crowd, no quarantine bubble to contend with, and still can’t make it to the grand final. ROSE, RASMUSSEN
