FEDERAL FUNDING BOOST
TOWNSVILLE City Council has received more than $4.68m worth of federal funding in the past three months.
Out of this financial year’s $7.68m funding allocation of Financial Assistance Grants, $3.68m had been paid in June, while another $1m was paid last month.
Federal Member for Herbert Phillip Thompson said that the bulk of this financial year’s allocation had already been paid and would help fix extra local roads, maintain local playgrounds or deliver more essential services.
“To be able to get this money out the door quicker than we normally would is a great result for the community,” Mr Thompson said.
