A HORROR first quarter has ended the Townsville Flames’ run through the NBL1 North finals series.
The Flames struggled to get out of first gear in their semi-final against Logan Thunder, giving up a 16-point lead at the first break.
While the Townsville side clawed its way back into the clash in the second term, a three-pointer from Thunder guard Chevannah Paalvast with 10 seconds remaining would be the final nail in the Flames’ coffin, and they lost 68-55.
