Settle the dispute in ring

- BRENT READ

WARRIORS forward Matt Lodge has been fined $5000 by the NRL over his outburst at the weekend but he may yet finish in the black after boxing promoter George Rose offered him the chance to square off against Gold Coast forward Jarrod Wallace in the offseason.

Rose, whose company No Limit Boxing has an event planned for November, took to social media as Lodge (pictured) and W a l l a c e scrapped on Sunday afternoon on the Gold Coast and on Monday he suggested he would love to get the pair in the ring.

“I love watching entertaining fights,” Rose said. “I would put them in the ring if they are willing to get in.”

Lodge was also charged by the match review committee over a late tackle on Gold Coast five-eighth Tyrone Peachey that preceded his coming together with Wallace, meaning he is likely to serve at least a one-game suspension next season.

Lodge was joined on the charge sheet by Wallace, Jazz Tevaga, Reece Walsh and Kane Evans.

Evans could miss up to eight matches over two separate incidents.
